What’s so special about me? I’m an expert problem solver who’s driven to help make people’s lives easier. I do that by contributing to every phase of the user-centered design process; whether it’s driving discovery workshops, fleshing out meaningful information architecture, or creating beautiful, usable, interfaces.
For over 20 years I’ve specialized in designing useful products for the web and mobile devices, and have worked with start-ups, Fortune 50 companies, and everyone in-between. (Adobe, Pfizer, Stanford, USC, and the YMCA, for example.) I’ve been commended in the past for empathizing with customers, paying attention to details, always meeting my deadlines, and working competently with little to no supervision. And, on top of it all, I’m told that I’m a fun dude to be around!
If you've made it this far, I must have your attention, so let me end with this: I'm always open to the right opportunity if it comes along. So if you think I could be the Homer to your Marge, get in touch!
I designed interfaces for sunbeltrentals.com, touching everything from the store locators to the cart, checkout, and my account experiences. I was also the lead designer on their punchout system redesign (it’s a special site for extra large corporate clients). On top of these responsibilities, I managed two contract visual designers. I’m especially proud of that punchout work; customers and clients loved the redesign and early user testing was very positive!
I was the lead product designer for the BLX product (an application for lenders), and I help out with any other projects, as needed.
(Streetshares was acquired by Meridianlink in April of ’22.)
Like most agencies, I was one in a pool of designers that would be assigned to projects as needed. My role would also vary depending on the client. Sometimes, I was leading the design process from the beginning workshops, and other times, I jumped in half way through to improve a component or specific page. The work was often exciting; I was designing all kinds of digital things for clients like Stanford, USC, NYU, YMCA, and Pfizer. I’m most proud of the work I did for Pfizer’s drug encyclopedia. The project was huge, and incredibly complex, but we delivered a massively improved experience loved by both doctors and patients.
For almost four years, I was the lead designer and developer for bible.com, which averages 20 million visitors a month. I also collaborated closely with another designer on the native apps for iOS and Android, which have been installed over 200 million times. My last major project was the complete redesign of bible.com, a project that took many months and included the collaborative efforts of almost everyone on the YouVersion team.
A short-lived start up that ultimately couldn’t find traction, but while there, I designed their Android app, worked on the commenting system, the sign up process using Facebook connect, and learned the wonders of Git.
For almost two years, I struck out on my own as a freelancer. In that time I worked on some awesome projects, including:
In the year I was there, I designed interfaces for the online store, the workout tracker application, and BodySpace, the social networking site. I also designed a new workout tracker web application, a workout finder tool, and consulted on their iOS application.
The job that kick started my UX career! During my time there, I designed interfaces for various internal applications, the company portal, and other mini-sites. I also redesigned a template for all Supervalu-owned pharmacies, designed the company intranet (twice), and made many improvements to albertsons.com.
