Spotlight: Pagination

Pagination is one of those patterns that can really make, or mess up, a page. I’d like to shine a light on two of the best pagination examples on the web today.

Endless.com (link)

Though it could probably stand out a little bit more, I like that I can easily tell how many pages of results there are, which page I’m on, that I can jump to the first and last page at any time, and there are multiple options for the next and previous pages. (Their filtering controls are amazing too, but that’s another discussion.)

Next up is everyone’s favorite photo site. I like it for all the same reasons as the endless site, but with the added bonus of large, easy to click squares for each page. Also, the design blends in beautifully with the page without calling too much attention to itself.
